As a surfer there are times when you look at a area of coastline and think "this has got to be a surf spot". I was right about Garth's Reef near Crescent City, California. I didn't see anyone surfing nor could I find any information on it despite my research. Recently for my birthday my son Nate gave me a guide to North American surf spots and it was listed in it. I will be watching it more closely on my travels up and down the west coast.
