Cherry Blossom Mist

Each and every spring the cherry trees bud, bloom and inspire. For this painting I first soaked the watercolor paper in a sink until saturated. I then wadded the paper into a tight ball and after flattening it back out painted on the wet crackled paper. The effect takes on a distressed look with a nod to batik fabric. I call these my “crinkle paintings”.
