Into The Light

Sometimes all it takes is a glance at just the right moment to inspire a painting. While walking on the beach recently I looked out to sea as the morning sun was beginning to hit the outside breakers. Closer to shore the treed coastline was still blocking the sunlight. For some reason, that image stuck in my mind’s eye and I continued to see it over the next couple days. After decades of painting I’ve learned when that happens there is something idling in my memory that needs to be painted before it is gone.
