Jetty And Breaker
I have quite a bit of history with the jetties along the Pacific Ocean as they remind me of time spent with my family when I was a kid. I remember being awakened on Saturday morning by my mom saying, “your dad is gassing up the car and I’m making a picnic lunch, so gather up your trucks and toys because we’re going to the beach today”.
One of our common day trips was driving from our home in Portland to the south jetty of the Columbia River where we would play all day in the sand. When you’re standing on a jetty, the breakers have a distinctive look when you see them from the side as they roll by.
This watercolor came back to us for resale after the owner passed away so it’s looking for a new home.
