Over The Breakers

As a painter, I find using the negative space between the tree limbs in a composition like this fascinating. I spend more time than you might think getting the rhythm of the boughs and limbs just right. Additionally, my goal was to place the viewer above the ocean where the breakers and atmosphere would add interest to those shapes, as well as putting you right at the edge of the sea.
