Description
Every spring and summer the flowers that bloom along the northwest coast make the long winters worth wading through after all. These are Crocosmia, a native South African tuber that loves our coastal environment. In this painting I was trying to capture the morning light on these wonderful blossoms with our landmark “Haystack Rock” and northern points in the distance. It’s a wonderful time of day when the warm sun beckons you to walk the beach.
Jeff painted this watercolor in 1996 and we offered it as a limited-edition lithograph, the state-of-the-art way of reproducing artwork at that time. For years people have asked if we have it in a smaller size. Working from the original digital file, we’ve now been able to reproduce it as a giclee print.
