Description
For as small as Hug Point State Park is there is plenty to paint including this waterfall that drops right onto the beach. There are also caves to explore, and sandstone cliffs warmed by evening light that always inspires me. In the early 1900s, before any roads were built, the beach was the only way to reach the settlements along this part of the coast by car. Driving around the base of the point required a low tide and care to get onto the rocky point and safely to the other side. That’s where the name Hug Point originated.
