Description
With so many breathtaking vistas and magical moments, it’s no wonder people feel the tug to return to our Pacific Wonderland. Likewise, how could I not be inspired to paint a moment this beautiful? This stately Sitka Spruce greeted us until recently and now lays on the ground below Silver Point, yet another result of the harsh weather meted out during our winter storms. I debated including it in this painting and went so far as to paint it on a piece of shrink wrap stretched over the surface as a visual experiment. After careful consideration, in my opinion it added what was needed to complete the composition and the story. With the sun just above the horizon on this glassy evening there was a suggestion of wind off in the distance, but not a whisper on the beach below.
