Description
I wouldn’t want this old fence in my yard, but it sure works in this painting. In addition to its time worn characteristics, what caught my eye was the way its linear nature mimicked the undulating breakers. In all likelihood, someone jumped this fence to take a picture or a short cut to the beach bending it into what made it so interesting. This black-capped chickadee had one eye on the wind and the other on me, ready to instantly duck for cover in the underbrush.
