Description
The trail above the Pacific Ocean in Ecola State Park has long been a favorite of mine for beauty and inspiration. It wanders in and out of the forest with vistas high above the breakers on its way north to Indian Beach. This series of rocks jutting into the Pacific from Ecola Point are known collectively as the “Sea Lion Rocks”. The largest one with the hole in it was featured in The Goonies movie that was filmed on the north coast several years ago. The limb I’ve placed in the foreground is a small part of a large Sitka Spruce that has been sculpted over the decades by the wind.
