Standing Strong

Original Framed Watercolor

As I explore the NW Coast I continue to discover new subject matter calling out to be painted. These treed basalt seastacks always inspire me. They change form and scale in my work just like they do in real life as we move closer to them or view them from a different angle. Rarely will you find I’ve painted them so accurately they are identifiable as a specific group of rocks. Instead what I try to capture is the mood and impression of so many different locations along our wonderful west coast.
